Oh no! Your Pieces MWAHAHAHA: 2023 Daily Chess Championship Round 1

Introduction

The 2023 Daily Chess Championship began on a very quiet January Weekend. This year was bigger and better than ever. Too many people, way too many people joined, to the point that Chess.com had to put a cap on the amount. Exactly 35,000 people joined this year. At least 2000 more than last year! Probably due to an enormous chess boom that has been going mainstream lately.

I decided to join this year because of my friend @road2nationalmaster. I ground my rating up to 1600 to prepare for this event weeks beforehand.

Although, I probably didn't need to prepare.

My opponents gave me a lot of free food. As in pawns, pieces, and another queen (yes, really).

Yum!

At the time of writing, I've already completed all 22 games. I'm most likely going to advance to the next round.

My greediness has helped me through life

More than half of my games were immediate wins. Quite a lot of people flagged. But it was only the unrated and the 400s.

Most of my opponents flagged!

Now it's time to get to the action. I've divided my games into different sections. I hope you enjoy it!

Free Food (where I take the pieces)

Free King (where I take the king for free)

Actual Games (where I play against somebody who's not 100 and hang pieces on move 4)

 Free Food

A ridiculously losing game throughout. The opponent managed to blunder 3 pieces. This taught me a lot of things. Always develop your pieces, don't do useless moves, and never hang your pieces. Somehow, my opponent managed to play extremely well in this game. Now, let's see how I play as white instead of black.
The last game was like a carrot at the bottom of a sardine can. This game is like if all the cars in the world turned into hotdogs and crashed into your house. It's like a maelstrom of rooks, queens, and pawns. Except, I have all the queens, rooks, and pawns, and he has nothing.
Another insightful game into the fascinating life of Bob the E-pawn, and his journey down the diagonal.
Knighty-knight. That is all I will say about this wunderkind of a game.
Free King
Such a gloriously ridiculous game. But, let's see my opponent play the same opening, but as white.
Mwahaha, never get those squares weak.
Actual Games
Probably the most improbable game of the century, and one of the most shortest games ever. One brilliant move to change the course of it all. And it was a thrilling adventure, especially the pawn sacrifice, and those extra checks. A lot of precision was done by me. I just converted the clean and easily winning position.

My opponent flagged in both games up top and down below. Although, I was apparently at least more than +1 or -1 in both of them, with a very crushing advantage.
Conclusion
#1 in my section!
This was a pretty good tournament. I definitely did better than last year with a 22/22, and the opponents were a lot easier this year, probably due to pairings and whatnot. A lot of free pieces though. happy.png which is what I like.
I definitely enjoyed this round of good luck. I will most definitely be knocked off round 2. But hopefully, I get some good games out of it and relish in this achievement.
I do love that activity though.
